We are impressed. The tiny island of Pemba in the Indian Ocean is almost unknown to the wider tourism world and then along came the worlds first DYI boutique submersible hotel.
Located at The Manta Resort, the first underwater hotel in Africa has opened off the remote island
of Pemba, part of the archipelago of Zanzibar, in Tanzania.
The hotel is 250m (820
ft) out to sea and consists of three floors, including a dining room and
an upper deck for star-gazing. The bedroom is below deck completely
submerged by water and provides a 360-degree view of sea life.
